Store Commerce Installation – Registry issues

When installing D365 Store Commerce, you may face some registry errors in installing.

Note while the powershell installation window would also give you suggested links to resolve this issue, in this post I am consolidating which registry keys would be needed to surpass the installation issues and prevent multiple computer restarts. The first set of registry keys is

HKLM SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols

You need to add Client and Server entries for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 and disable both these protocols by adding an Enabled DWORD value as 0. Store Commerce needs your computer to use only TLS 1.2 for the communication.

The next set of registry keys needed for resolving the issue

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft.NETFramework\v2.0.50727]
“SystemDefaultTlsVersions” = dword:00000001
“SchUseStrongCrypto” = dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft.NETFramework\v4.0.30319]
“SystemDefaultTlsVersions” = dword:00000001
“SchUseStrongCrypto” = dword:00000001

The final set of registry keys that are needed to be tweaked to resolve this issue-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft.NETFramework\v2.0.50727]
“SystemDefaultTlsVersions” = dword:00000001
“SchUseStrongCrypto” = dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft.NETFramework\v4.0.30319]
“SystemDefaultTlsVersions” = dword:00000001
“SchUseStrongCrypto” = dword:00000001

Note the installer suggests the following links for resolving this issue but this post should help you to save some restarts as every registry tweak done needs a restart to move on to the next issue.
